When do-it-yourself is not appropriate
Large commercial sites, schools, restricted-use products, structural pests, and nest work that requires a license.

Do-it-yourself is appropriate for many home lawns using general-use, consumer-labeled products. It is not appropriate for every property or every pest.
Hire a qualified professional when
- The property is a school, daycare, playground, or similar sensitive site.
- The job needs a restricted-use pesticide or a product sold only to licensed applicators.
- Pests are structural: termites, carpenter ants in framing, rodents in buildings, wildlife.
- Nest treatments in walls, attics, or electrical equipment require a license or specialized gear.
- The site is large commercial turf where calibration, posting, and recordkeeping are contractual or legal duties.
- You cannot identify the pest or the grass, and a wrong product would injure the stand.
OnlyTheGrass helps you measure and estimate general-use quantities. It is not a license, a prescription, or a substitute for the label or for licensed pest control.
