Safety
Safety, storage, and the label
PPE, children, rain, and state rules. The bag or bottle you buy outranks any website estimate.

The EPA-registered label is a legal document. Websites, store clerks, and job-sheet estimates do not override it. If this calculator and the bottle disagree, the bottle wins.
PPE, storage, children
- Wear the gloves, eye protection, and clothing the label lists — not a generic assumption.
- Mix outdoors or in a ventilated area. Never mix in food jars or bottles.
- Store locked, in the original bag or bottle, away from children, pets, and food.
- Do not apply immediately before rain when the label says so; runoff is both a water-quality and an efficacy problem.
- State and local rules may ban certain consumer actives (for example, phosphorus fertilizer or specific herbicides). Check before you apply.
If someone is exposed, follow the label’s first-aid section and contact poison control. Do not wait on internet advice.
